All in all it was a nice, clean track but just a little different than what we are used to. This is down by the first turn and wasn't crowded when we went down there. They do have a little beach like area with a bar and lots of sand(no water) that was great for the kids to play in. I think they are missing the boat with that.the keeneland gift shop always gets a lot of our money when we visit.
There was no gift shop, just a little kiosk. The view is beautiful with the palm trees and highrises in the background on the beach. There is a 25 pp minimum to sit in there but this wasn't a problem for us sinced we were drinking as well as eating. (My husband is a dedicated handicapper.) We ended up sitting inside at 10 Palms for a good part of the day because it was a little chilly(around 60) and cloudy. The 'grandstand' is tiny compared to other tracks so we ordered tickets online a month ahead to be sure we had a place to sit. As it was we had 4 seats in the small outside seating section. The architecture is beautiful and if we hadnn't flown I would have loved doing some damage in the shops.
It is unlike any of the midwest tracks we have been to, like Keeneland, Churchill, or Arlington to name a few.It is part of a huge shopping/casino complex. Also, Bert Jones Harbor is to the left with Gulfport Harbor on the right side of the screen in front of Beach Blvd. This HD live cam is brought to you courtesy of Hancock Whitney Bank located at 1430 25th Ave. Our family including our 2 small kids 5 and 6, visited Gulfstream Park for the horseracing.
